Explore answers to common questions about our community. Whether you're curious about prerequisites, project selection, or other details, you'll find the information you need here.
We are a part of the Technical Comittee on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at Audio Engineering Society. We want to gather students from all around the world, and create a place for them to collaborate on projects that revolve around machine learning in audio and acoustics. We want you to find new international friends and mentors, to grow and learn in the field of ML. And ultimately – become a great AI professional!
We plan to have multiple opportunities to participate in our community. Some of them include:
Project-based learning – we help you find a team (2 – 5 students) and a project that you will be the most passionate about. You get to work on the topic that involves cutting-edge technology and suits your abilities and interests. Your own project ideas are also very welcome!
Student tech reading club – you feel like you’re not up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations in the ML field? Join our club where you’ll have a chance to listen to other members of our community share their recent findings or share them yourself!
Networking activities – we will organize fun meetings where you can get to know your international peers a little bit better. Online-gaming, speed networking or virtual group-challenges? Don’t miss out on the opportunity to meet your fellow ML peers!
Professionals webinars and training sessions – you want to participate in our community but don’t have a lot of time? Please join our webinars, where you’ll have a chance to meet professionals in the field, get to know our TC-MLAI members and find out about latest ML trends.
You can join anytime from any place in the world. Our community is international and therefore we operate mostly online. We are a student community, so any student (high-school, college, university) will be very welcome.
If you want to join - check out the JOIN US tab. Basically all you need to do is two things:
Fill out this form, so we can get to know you a little bit better,
Join our Discord Server, so you can stay up to date with any new info
If you are a professional interested in mentoring the students in their projects or prepare a webinar, contact us directly at aistudentdivision.com or fill out the mentor form and we will contact you as soon as possible.
You do not actively participate in all of the activities. We will find you a place no matter your time availability and resources, so you can get the most out of this organization!
You don't need to possess an extensive AI background to participate. While some basic knowledge is welcomed, we will assist you in selecting projects that strike the right balance between challenge and learning opportunities, ensuring a valuable experience for all participants.
You don't have to have your own project idea, we can help you choose one. However, if you do have your own project, it's very welcome, and we'll support its development.
The type of communication will depend on the form of your participation - from active participation in small international projects, to the reading club and webinars.
Our main communication channel will be the Discord Server. We will schedule regular online meetings for the Student Division community, which you'll have a chance to join if you choose to.
We also encourage developing project in small groups, in which you'll have a chance to communicate through direct messages at times that suits you best.
If you didn't find an answer for your question, we encourage you to message us on our Facebook or contact us at aistudentdivision@gmail.com
